Today we visited the local wine district, about an hour drive south from Torino.
Hot day, and beautiful countryside. Vineyards as far you can see.
The neat-ness of the rows is very impressive. The grapes all hang at the bottom of each thin vine, presumably so that the top vine leaves protect the grapes from the harsh sun??? Its two weeks out from grape picking time. We need to meet with Nunzia and Franco in one weeks time for a holiday together in Le Marche, before they start their own grape picking season with Zio Pasquale.
And lunch, with Barolo wine, of course.
Note to self – don’t drink so much Barolo on such a hot day…..
